wide open sea

On friday i sailed with 2 other boats to Dassen island and anchored the night there. what a surprise to wake up with your house in a new place and a penguin waving from the beach. Also saw lots of seals, dolphins, birds and 2 sharks on the way. It felt so great to have done this that i even started washing the mouldy dishes in my flat after resisting for 2 months!

about last night

Dear blob

last night i had a bit of extra excitement. as if the last few days of sailing and too many people weren't enough. i hit a car. we hit a car. that is my trusty moto-cycle and i. an imbecilic dumb moronic earthling stopped their car dead in the middle of the road on THE OTHER SIDE of the traffic light in the fast line on a dark windswept road. That surely deserves a prize.
It happened in a split second. I was travelling at light speed - max of 85km/h - to beat a new traffic light and for once not very aware after a long day (a bit spaced out myself). And the car in front of me just stopped dead after crossing the intersection. Maybe they felt guilty for not stopping at the red traffic light and thought they'd make up for it by doing so on the other side of it. I'm very happy they make cars like spaceships these days, round and with lots of big curved break..brake lights. That and the fact that it was one of these small fullbody hatchbacks probably saved me. We braked and swerved, as best a still alive and innocent soft alien could do in 2 seconds, facing steel entry wounds. I'm afraid we must've still hit it at 15 meters a second. my moto took half the hit lower down against it's immobile corner and my upper body smashed into it's brakelight array higher up. Or so i think because i wasn't taking notes at that stage, just hanging on for dear life.
I couldn't believe it when we were still upright after the unholy crunch. Alas we were wobbling at good speed towards the back of a huge truck in the left hand lane. In my effort to stay in the bucking saddle, i was opening the throttle full tilt at the same time as pulling down hard on both brakes. my brain couldn't figure out this novel sound of combined full brake and throttle. I can't really recall how me managed to miss the truck. I must have let go of the throttle and the truck must have been going at enough of a speed to escape a second encounter of steel and wheel.
I did a quick body parts and fluids check and was amazed we were still intact after having just bounced of a car and underneath a truck. I thought of stopping but there was nowhere to get off the road. Also what was i going to do about this? shout at the imbecile. We just drove home as fast as we could and tried to think if this could mean something.

saloon table

At last; i am able to sit in my boat living room at a table, the table - that also forms a big double bed by the way.
